I bought this because I didn't want a wireless mouse that I couldn't use on an airplane. What I like the most is if I have the mouse right next to the netbook, I only unreel a couple inches of cord instead of having to have a long cord getting in the way.
Not so. I bought this to go with my Acer Aspire Netbook and was a little afraid it was going to be too small for my big fingers.
It retracts and saves room in the Targus bag that I carry everything in. It works great and has a nice feel.
It operates with a gentle fingertip grip which takes a few minutes to get used to but once I did it is like I have been using it forever. I can unroll more if I need it, but only pull out what I need.
Very pleased with it.
My only complaint is that clicking tends to be hard sometimes. With the portability comes the sacrifice of a comfortable size. It's a tiny mouse and it works. Performance:***It serves it's purpose. This is a small mouse, ideal for laptops and netbooks. A tiny, portable, light weight, working mouse. The USB plug fits nicely where it's supposed to without being too snug or too loose. The problem is with the size of the mouse. No need to worry about replacing batteries (constantly) or making sure your mouse is charged and yet, no horrible long cord to get tangled everywhere.Actual Use:***It's a very simple "plug 'n' play" set up.
I don't fault the mouse too much for it because I knew that when I first bought it. It requires more of a focused "hard click" then I'm used to on my desktop's mouse.Portability:*****It's tiny and almost weightless. It's very small and portable and even comes with it's own carrying case that you can shove into your purse (or whatever). My fingers already have a tendency to ache (particularly when it's cold) and this mouse does them no favors. I'm assuming this is due to it's size because I generally run into trouble if I haven't been using it a whole lot. The cord feature is surprisingly simple and yet genius all at the same time. Conclusion:***It is what it is. Good for anyone who needs something they can more easily browse the internet or work on projects while on the go.Not recommended for those with any sort of hand/wrist aches.
I had a Kensington 72114 for years until my niece saw it and took it with her. I bought this mouse and it's giving pain on my wrist. It's still working. It's too hard to click and it has a slow response. I fell in love with the size of it, but, unfortunately, I only read the review about the fragility of the piece after I bought it. I am going right now buy me another Kensington or two. I couldn't find it in the stores.
I bought this for travel, but find it great all the time. But, when retracting, hold by the cord, not the plug and mouse. It will last much longer
Don't waste your money. This dual-mode mouse / trackball is a piece of junk. Following the instructions, the device does not properly switch to trackball mode.
